The Platform

Three Commitments.

One Clear Mission.

Students over politics.

01

Accessible & Affordable Education

Higher education must be within reach for every student — not just those who can afford it.

The cost of higher education is one of the greatest barriers facing students in Clark County. Dr. Kirk Talib-deen believes that tuition decisions made by the Board of Regents must always account for the real financial realities of Nevada's working families. Accessibility isn't just about opening doors. Accessibility is about making sure students can walk through them without being buried in debt.

  • Oppose tuition increases that outpace wage growth in Nevada
  • Advocate for expanded financial aid and emergency funding for at-risk students
  • Push for stronger dual-credit and transfer pathways from community colleges to four-year institutions

02

Critical Literacy Campaign

Students deserve an education that teaches them to think not just take test.

Dr. Kirk Talib-deen believes Nevada needs a coordinated, system-wide critical literacy initiative that equips students to analyze information, engage with complex ideas, and participate meaningfully in civic life. This isn't about ideology, it's about preparing graduates who can thrive in a rapidly changing world.

  • Champion curriculum initiatives that emphasize analytical reading and writing
  • Support library resources, faculty development, and student literacy programs across all eight NSHE institutions
  • Advocate for culturally responsive education that reflects Nevada's diverse student population
  • Promote civic literacy as a core competency at community colleges and universities

03

Developing Faculty Relations & Investing in Future Educators

Great educators build great institutions. Great institutions invest in the people who shape tomorrow's leaders.

Dr. Kirk Talib-deen believes the future of higher education in Nevada depends on how we support and develop the people who drive it. The Board of Regents must foster genuine, collaborative relationships with faculty and staff. Dr. Talib-deen will build pathways that attract and prepare the next generation of educators. His goal is to invest and empower educators to better serve the Nevada community.

  • Foster faculty relations through shared governance, open dialogue, and mutual respect
  • Champion mentorship programs that connect experienced educators with emerging professionals
  • Support "grow-your-own" educator pipelines that recruit Nevada students into teaching and academic careers
  • Invest in professional development and leadership opportunities for faculty across all eight NSHE institutions
  • Advocate for working conditions that allow institutions to attract and retain dedicated educators
"I don't profess to be a politician. I am an educator with a genuine concern for students and their ambition toward higher learning."
